The Taiwanese manufacturer Teclast also turn to color for its new electronic book reader. It is the first to adopt C-paper technology, which as the black and white E-ink, reproducts imitate the colors of paper magazines.
Its screen measures 5-inch for a resolution of 800 × 480. Teclast announces that the interface is as fast as a E-ink model. With its color display, it is a bit more versatile since it can play 720p HD videos. Of course it is compatible with almost all the current text files such as TXT, PDF, PDB, DOC, EPUB, HTML with Text-To-Speach. It also plays MP3, WMA, FLAC, AAC files and Jpeg and Bmp pictures files.
The Teclast K5 although it doesn’t feature a Touch Screen it has studied ergonomics with navigation buttons on each side of the screen to browse the pages when you’re holding the reader with right or left hand. The manufacturer affirm that the battery life is 12 hours in eBook reading, 6 hours in HD video playback, and even 24 hours in MP3 playback. It comes with earphones, a leather case, USB cable, power supply and a protective film for the screen. The player has 4GB of internal memory expandable via TF card slot.
The Teclast K5 is readily available on the Chinese market for a friendly price tag at $100.
