Chinese manufacturers are increasingly present on the smartphone market. Waiting for the release of the Meizu M9, Huawei has presented two high-end smartphones running Android 2.2.

Let’s start with the Huawei Ideos X6 or u9000, it comes to compete with the HTC HD2 with its giant 4.1-inch screen and its 800×480 resolution. It is compatible with GSM EDGE, UMTS HSPA +, adopts a processor 1Ghz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon and a 3D hardware accelerator, 2Gb of ROM and 512Mb of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera and it can record in HD 720p. It has a connection WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, a aGPS chip, a Micro SD slot, the G-sensor and HDMI output, all in 10 mm thick. It will be released in January 2011.

Then comes the Huawei Ideos X5 or u8800 whose design strongly resembles the Lenovo LePhone. Still running Android 2.2, it supports HSPA+ for flow of 14Mb/s. It can serve as WiFi hotspots for 8 users. Its screen is smaller than the Huawei X6 since it measures 3.8 inches and it also adopts a 5-megapixel camera. Expected release, later this year.
