Despite the slow growth of Android in China, the Chinese smartphone manufacturers still try to believe in its future. Indeed, QiGi just introduced its first Android powered smartphone. It will be part of the very few Chinese manufacturers to offer in their range, the free operating system from Google.
The Qigi A1 is a quad band smartphone who wants to be multimedia. It adopts a 3.5 inches WVGA (800 × 480) touch screen. Its processor (the manufacturer is unknown) runs at 468Mhz and should be able to read HD video. It supports 3G WCDMA and includes a GPS chip. The version 2.0 of Android will be installed. It should support WiFi, Bluetooth, has a 3.2 megapixel camera and a micro SD slot. Except that, nothing else was mentioned during its official presentation, neither the price nor the availability date.
