Chinese manufacturer Chinaleap which has just introduced his M1, an Tablet PC clone of the iPad, comes with a new model. The Chinaleap M2 is according to his manufacturer, the thinnest tablet in the world. Indeed its aluminum body frame has a thickness of 13.3 mm against 13.4 mm for the iPad only 0.1 mm less though.
The 8 inch 4:3 clone runs on Android 2.1 and is powered by two 600 MHz ARM processor and a GPU for hardware 2D/3D acceleration. Enough power to decode 720p HD videos and watch them on a compatible display via HDMI. It has 8 gb of internal memory, a WiFi module, a 3 megapixels camera, an accelerometer, G-sensor, a buzzer and an optional 3G external module.
Chinaleap said his tablet PC has a battery range of 90 hours in standby and 8 hours in operation. The M2 will be available in late September, waiting for further details on the specifications, the price should be around 150 dollars.
