A new tablet from Shenzhen has been unveiled by the manufacturer Expand. Its design echoes to the stylistic code of the iPhone with a rounded edge body and a single button on the front.
The resemblance stop at the design, since the Tablet PC is based on X86 architecture including Windows XP or an widgets interface as we found on today’s Smartphone. It has a VIA C7-M processor running at 1.2 GHz with a VIA VX700 chipset and comes 1GB for RAM and 16 GB SSD hard drives.
The 7-inch touch screen displays a native resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It includes a wireless module and especially a 3G module. The tablet pc also features a webcam on the front and a G-sensor. Looking at the I/O ports, it has 2x USB ports, a mini USB and the traditional microphone and headphone jacks are located on the side of the device. The manufacturer has considered adding a foot on the rear seat (available in black or brown) to hold the camera vertically.
The Tablet PC from Expand will soon be available in China, priced at around $366.
